Para mim e para mais alguns, Laura Sarti incluída, a melhor cantora de sempre (muito sinceramente não encontro ninguém na lírica com o trajecto da sra.) e hoje cumpre mais uma aniversário natalício, La Prudentisima, Mirella Freni.

Sra. de uma vocalidade assombrante, inicia a carreira longuíssima como soubrette e termina com spinto. É já conhecida como a prudente porque soube gerir muito bem a sua vocalidade o que a obrigou a dizer não a Karajan a não cantar Cio-Cio-San em palco e diz-se que a Turandot.

Freni nos seus muitos registos comerciais oferece-nos verdadeiras pérolas do canto. Há um registo que «amo» perdidamente o Requiem de Verdi sob a direcção de Karajan (1972). Há também disponíveis (mais ou menos) pela net registos, não editados comercialmente, de gravações radiofónicas e de transmissões televisivas deliciosas.
